SkyCreek Corporation is the leading provider of mixed-mode contact solutions using IVR, e-mail, and SMS.  For nearly 20 years, SkyCreek has been at the forefront of innovating new automated contact technologies and optimizing their performance in high-volume contact operations.  We serve some of the largest companies in North America, and have been fortunate to maintain a 95%+ annual retention rate with many customers having been with us for over 10 years. 

Our eTouchPoint product group is hiring for an experienced Sr. Java Software Engineer to join our development team as a full-time, permanent employee.  You'll be challenged to wear many hats as we build out our next generation "big analytics" solution.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be fluent with Java and its popular frameworks.  Significant experience with Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, JMS, and Java ORM frameworks such as MyBatis or Hibernate is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles and patterns.
  • Thoroughly understand SQL and relational modeling, including an understanding of the difference between thinking in objects and thinking in sets.  Experience with ETL, Data Warehousing, OLAP, NoSQL or NewSQL technologies is also a big plus.
  • Know XML, XML Schema, and related technologies.
  • Have a working knowledge of Linux.
  • Value test-driven design/development, and be able to implement unit, integration, and functional tests with JUnit and related technologies.
  • Prefer Agile approaches to software development such as Scrum and Extreme Programming.

You'll be joining a small, highly collaborative, and multi-disciplinary Agile development team.  We are passionate about what we do, and are constantly seeking to refine our craft.  We operate on the forefront of software development, and emphasize quality of design and implementation.  We practice automated test-driven development from the UI down to the database.  We leverage open-source heavily, enhance it as needed, and contribute back to several OSS projects.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be fluent with the technologies and techniques for creating customer-facing, cross-browser, web-standards-based rich internet applications with an emphasis on usability, performance, security and a polished appearance.  Experience building mobile web and/or native applications for iOS and Android are a plus.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of Java, in particular JSP, JSTL and Servlets.  Experience with Struts, Tiles, Spring, Spring Security, and Java ORM frameworks such as MyBatis or Hibernate is also preferred.
  • Know the JavaScript language in detail, and be able to utilize and enhance modern JavaScript frameworks such as YUI.
  • Understand both object-oriented and functional programming design principles and patterns.
  • Know HTML and CSS down to the W3C specs, along with the nuances of modern browser implementations and relevant best practices.  Graphic design and web graphic development skills are a plus but not required.
  • Have a working knowledge of the HTTP protocol, REST techniques, and web application performance and security aspects.
  • Value test-driven design/development, and be able to implement web and JavaScript unit, function, and performance tests.
  • Prefer Agile approaches to software development such as Scrum and Extreme Programming.
